Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is undoubtedly one of the greatest shows ever and definitely, one of my favorites. It is an excellent portrayal of how the characters gradually and inexorably disintegrate. Unlike many procedural dramas where major character transformations occur abruptly, the transformation of Walter White from a high school chemistry teacher to a vicious drug lord is portrayed in a very natural manner in the show. This sums up the deterioration of his character and the show does an excellent job of keeping it believable that he is this bad, yet it feels like it makes sense that he got here.

All the actors were perfectly cast, and everyone portrayed their role very well. Nevertheless, the utmost attention should be paid to Bryan Cranston who plays Walter White perfectly well. Stoltz is the anchor of the film given that he is solely charged with relaying both the frailty and the menace of a man consumed by both desperation and pride.

It should also be noted that the brilliant writing starts from the pilot episode. The script of the movie seems very well written, and everything from the lines spoken to the course of the plot seems to have been planned to the smallest detail. It is more than about drug wars; it is about the extent to which people change and turn into monsters they once hated. Jesse Pinkman is introduced as a ‘man-child’ who throughout the show, develops a sociopathic personality and leaves the meth business only to return to it again out of habit and comfort.

Breaking Bad also provides the viewers with an opportunity to see the cinematic side of a drug dealer as the shoemakers prove that nobody is good or bad. It is a magnificent depiction of humans and their duality, it is a depiction of how the line between right and wrong is thin and how anyone can turn into a monster.

Thus, Breaking Bad is an outstanding example of how television narratives can be powerful and enduring, even if their specific theme is not necessarily inspirational.
